This recipe makes a delicious blueberry and grape smoothie that is so yummy it tastes like a dessert. Serve this smoothie for breakfast or a healthy snack.

    Blueberry Smoothie with Red Grapes

This smoothie includes blueberries, red grapes, apples, oranges and chia seeds. The chia seeds are used to slightly increase the protein and fat content therefore making the smoothie more filling.

This blueberry grape smoothie is full of vitamins and minerals that are important for health and the fibre content is good for the gut. It contains around 200 calories so this smoothie is perfect for those trying to reduce the calories in their diet.

I sometimes make this blueberry smoothie recipe in the morning as I don’t always feel like breakfast and it tends to keep me going until lunchtime. The recipe takes less than 10 minutes to prepare and all you need is a blender and a citrus squeezer.

It is also vegan friendly so if you’re looking for a quick healthy breakfast then definitely give this recipe a try.

    Ingredients for Grape Blueberry Smoothie

Please find the full list of ingredients and quantities in the recipe card at the end of the post.

    • Chia seeds - to add protein and fat to the smoothie.
    • Oranges - the juices from the oranges are used to loosen the smoothie.
    • Grapes - use seedless grapes.
    • Blueberries - use fresh or frozen.
    • Apple - use any variety of apple.

How to Make Red Grape Blueberry Smoothie

    1. Add the chia seeds and water to a small bowl, mix and cover the bowl. Allow the seeds to soak in the water for 30 minutes.

    2. Once the chia seeds have soaked, prepare the oranges by cutting them in half and use a citrus squeezer to squeeze all the juice out of them.

    3. To a blender, add the red grapes, blueberries, chopped apple, orange juice and the soaked chia seeds. Blend them all together then enjoy.

    Recipe Tips

    • This recipe can easily be halved if you want to make a single serving.
    • The chia seeds will have a jelly like texture once soaked which is normal.
    • Make sure the fruit is washed and dried with paper towels before using.
