Ingredients for Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings
- 750g chicken wings - if you have whole wings then cut them in half at the joint.
- 1 teaspoon salt - this is optional though it enhances the flavour of the wings.
- ½ teaspoon black pepper - I use coarse black pepper.
- ½ teaspoon paprika - adds a smoky flavour to the wings.
- 1 teaspoon crushed chilli - adds a little spice to the wings.
- 3 teaspoon garlic - finely chop the garlic.
- 1 tablespoon parsley - finely chop the parsley.
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce - I use reduced salt. Soy sauce gives the wings some colour so it’s easier for the wings to go golden brown.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil - or any oil of choice.
- 60g unsalted butter - melt the butter.
- 60g parmesan cheese - grated.

How to Make Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings
1. To the cleaned wings, sprinkle on the salt, black pepper, paprika and crushed chilli. Add in the chopped garlic and parsley then set the bowl aside. To a smaller bowl, add the soy sauce and olive oil then mix. Pour the liquid onto the chicken and seasoning then using a spoon mix everything together. Cover and refrigerate for around 4 hours but preferably overnight.
2. When you’re ready to cook the wings, preheat the oven to gas mark 6/400oF/200oC. While the oven is heating, line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil and place the wings on the tray and ensure there is space between them. Place in the oven for 30 minutes. While they are in the oven, melt the butter in a microwaveable bowl at small increments of 20 seconds until fully melted. To the melted butter, pour in the parmesan and combine them set aside.
3. After 30 minutes, remove the wings from the oven and place each wing into bowl with the butter and parmesan. Mix all the wings into the sauce until all the wings are coated then pour the content of the bowl back into the baking tray. Spread the wings out again and then bake for another 15 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the wings. Once baked, allow the wings to cool for 10 minutes before serving. These wings can also be served cold.
Recipe Tips
- I prepare my chicken wings by removing any hairs left and then cleaning them with fresh lemon and vinegar but it’s all down to personally preference how you prepare the chicken before seasoning.
- If like me you do wash your chicken then it’s ideal to clean your sink and the areas around the sink after you wash it. Also, try and avoid the water splashing everywhere while washing. Ensure there are no plates or cups nearby.
- If you are using more wings then 750g then add a little more of each ingredient. The good thing about this recipe is that all the ingredients don’t have to be exact.
