These baked homemade sausages patties go great with eggs or in a muffin for a delicious protein packed breakfast. The meat is heavily seasoned with herbs and spices which complement the meat and gives the patties a lovely flavour.

These homemade breakfast sausage patties are made using a selection of herbs and spices which give the sausages their familiar flavour. They are so delicious and go great with scrambled eggs or you can make them thinner and serve in English muffins or bagels. If you make them thinner then reduce the cooking time as they will cook through quicker.

The recipe is easy to prepare and all the ingredients go into one bowl, before I shape them into patties and bake them until they are golden brown. You can also shape the sausage patties and freeze them until you are ready to cook them. Just make sure to throughly defrost them before cooking.

What Meat to Use for Breakfast Sausage Patties?

To make these breakfast patties, you can use pork mince or turkey mince. I have tested the recipe with both and they both taste great. If you use pork mince use 10 - 20% fat and if using turkey use 7% fat mince.

    Ingredients for Breakfast Sausage Patties

Please find the full list of ingredients and quantities in the recipe card at the end of the post.

    • Mince - you can use ground pork or turkey.
    • Seasonings - to season the meat, I use salt, black pepper, white pepper, onion granules, nutmeg, sage and parsley.
    • Syrup - golden syrup or honey is used to caramelise the patties and give them a slightly sweet flavour.

How to Make Breakfast Sausage Patties

    1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 6/400oF/190oC/200/180oC fan and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Add all the ingredients to a bowl then use your hands to mix all the ingredients together. Ensure you combine the ingredients well.

    2. Shape the meat into 8 round patties then place the sausage patties onto the baking tray and ensure there is space between them. Cook for 30 minutes or until cooked throughout, turning halfway through. Once cooked through, remove from the oven and set aside to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

    Recipe Tips

    • I make my sausage patties quite thick but you can make them thin by putting them between parchment paper and rolling them out thinner. Remember to decrease the baking time if rolling thin.
