This recipe is for these no bake chocolate peanut butter bars that are quick, easy and the perfect treat for all the peanut butter lovers.

    Peanut Butter Bars

If you love peanut butter and need a quick dessert then this is the perfect recipe. These bars take 10 minutes to prepare and are then placed in the fridge to set so you can make them then get on with your day.

These no bake peanut butter bars include a creamy rich peanut butter and biscuit base that is topped with a mixture of peanut butter and chocolate. Because this peanut butter bar recipe includes peanut butter in the base and the chocolate topping, you can taste peanut butter throughout. The crushed biscuit gives the bars a crunchy texture which goes perfectly with the peanut butter and chocolate.

These bars remind me of peanut butter cups and they are just as delicious so if peanut butter cups are your thing, then you’ll love these bars.

Ingredients for Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Please find the full list of ingredients and quantities in the recipe card at the end of the post.

    For the Base

    • Digestives – to give the base a crunchy texture.
    • Butter – I use unsalted as most peanut butters contain some salt.
    • Peanut butter – I use smooth peanut butter.
    • Icing sugar – also known as powdered sugar.

    For the Topping

    • Chocolate – use chocolate chips or a bar broken into pieces. Use milk or dark chocolate. I use a mixture of both.
    • Peanut butter – use smooth peanut butter.

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

    1. Line an 8x8 inch baking tin with parchment paper and set aside. Crush the digestives biscuits by adding the biscuits to a food bag and rolling over the biscuits in the bag with a rolling pin. You can also do this in a food processor. Once crushed, set aside.

    2. To a microwaveable mixing bowl, add the butter and melt in the microwave at 30 second increments. Once melted, mix in the peanut butter until smooth. Mix in the icing sugar then mix in the crushed digestives. Transfer the mixture to lined baking tin and use a palette knife to spread and smooth the mixture in the tin.

    3. Add the chocolate and peanut butter to a microwaveable bowl and melt in the microwave at 40 second increments until fully melted.  Give the mixture a stir then pour it over the peanut butter base. Use a palette knife to smooth then place in the fridge for 2 hours to set.

Cut into 16 squares and enjoy.
