Butter Garlic & Onion Green Beans

This recipe makes these tasty butter garlic and onion green beans that are flavour-packed and goes with almost any main meal.

Ingredients

  • 250g fresh green beans trimmed and rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon for the water and ½ teaspoon for seasoning
  • 15g butter salted or unsalted
  • 1 small red onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil with ½ teaspoon of salt. Add beans and cook for 3 - 4 minutes until just tender but still crisps. Drain and immediately and rinse under cold water.
  • In a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 4 – 5 minutes while stirring occasionally, until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the green beans to the pan, tossing to coat them in the garlic butter. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes until heated through. Add the salt and black pepper then serve warm.
